How It Works

From Sleep to Coaching — Fully Automated

While you rest, Matter's 7 AI engines process overnight data, generate readiness scores, and draft personalized actions for every athlete on your roster.

OvernightStep 1

AI analyzes sleep, HRV, training load, and wellness data

7 engines process data from wearables, check-ins, and training logs across your entire roster while you sleep.

6:00 AMStep 2

Morning briefing generated with readiness scores and risk flags

Each athlete receives a readiness score. Athletes below threshold are flagged with specific risk categories and severity levels.

6:15 AMStep 3

Workout adjustments drafted based on today's readiness

AI drafts deloads, recovery swaps, and session modifications for flagged athletes. Research-backed reasoning is attached to every recommendation.

You arriveStep 4

Review, approve with one tap, and coach

Open your briefing, review AI reasoning, approve or modify with one tap. Batch-approve routine items. Everything executes automatically.

How a day with Matter works

Matter handles the planning and context work so you start the day with drafts to review, not a blank calendar.

01

The plan starts prepared

Matter reviews athlete context, goals, history, and readiness so coaches open a draft plan, not a blank calendar.

02

Adjust from context, not memory

“Who needs a lighter day?” — ask by voice or text. The AI responds with names, context, and editable training changes you can review before assigning.

03

The work stays connected

After training, Matter connects completed work, compliance, recovery context, messages, and follow-ups back to the next plan.

Automation Intelligence

From Detection to Action in 46 Seconds

7 engines monitor overnight. AI drafts actions. You approve one-tap.

Engines Scan

7 engines analyze overnight data: readiness drops, missed sessions, HRV trends, illness signals, overreaching patterns.

6:16 AM

AI Drafts Actions

AI creates 4 recommendations: Deload Marcus Johnson (overtraining risk 91%), Draft check-in for Julie Keating (sleep crisis), Flag Derek Washington (3 missed sessions), Advance Olivia Park to full training (RTP milestone).

6:30 AM

Briefing Delivered

Morning briefing arrives with prioritized triage: 8 athletes flagged, 4 pending approvals, team readiness 72%.

7:00 AM

One-Tap Approval

Open inbox → review AI reasoning → approve, modify, or dismiss → batch-approve routine items.

7:01 AM

Ready to Send

Workout suggestions, message drafts, alerts, and check-ins are organized before athletes arrive.

Intelligence, not just data

Purpose-built for coaches who want plans and changes prepared — not another dashboard of numbers to interpret.

Team Readiness Dashboard

Every athlete’s readiness, trends, compliance, and risk level in one view. Color-coded so you can make decisions in seconds.

AI That Knows Your Team

Ask anything in natural language. The AI references athletes by name, understands the plan, and drafts coach-reviewed next steps.

Proactive Alerts

Illness prediction, overreaching detection, engagement drops, and declining trends — surfaced before athletes feel them.

Suggested Adaptations

When context changes, Matter suggests deloads, recovery swaps, session modifications, or plan edits based on coach rules and evidence.

Photo Workout Parsing

Snap a whiteboard workout. AI converts it to structured data instantly. No manual entry, no typing on your phone.

Readiness Forecasting

Predict each athlete’s readiness 1–3 days ahead. Plan training intensity around predicted recovery, not just today’s numbers.

For programs after the House settlement

The sports-science line got cut. The roster didn’t.

Revenue sharing started in July 2025 with a cap near $20.5M per school, and about 82% of Division I opted in. That money comes out of budgets that were already committed, and the first things to go are rarely the ones with a scoreboard attached.

So a lot of programs now look the same: the same number of athletes, the same championship expectations, and one fewer person watching whether anyone is breaking down. The monitoring did not stop being necessary. It stopped being staffed.

Matter is built for exactly that gap — whole-roster monitoring priced for a coach to expense, not for a department to procure. No RFP, no six-month evaluation, no seat licence per assistant.

Settlement figures from the Congressional Research Service. We have linked the source because the argument only works if the facts hold up.
