What a week on Matter actually looks like

Modelled on a 40-athlete endurance roster across cross country and track — the shape of program Matter is built for. What the coach does, what runs overnight, and what changes.

40 athletesMixed devicesOne coach, no support staff

Why this page has no customer numbers on it

Because we do not have them yet. Matter is early, and the honest version of that is a page like this one rather than a case study about an anonymous program that saved an unverifiable number of hours.

You have read those pages. So have we. When there is a real deployment with a real number behind it, it will appear here with the program named, the sample size stated, and the measurement window written down — or it will not appear at all.

Everything described below is checkable in a 15-minute demo, which is a stronger claim than a statistic you cannot audit.

The four things that make the difference

Runs overnight

The roster is read before you wake up. You open a briefing instead of assembling one.

Whole roster, every day

Every athlete is scored daily, not just the ones who spoke up. Walk-ons included.

Shows its work

Each flag names the data behind it — the HRV trend, the load ratio, the missed session.

Drafts, never sends

Adaptations and messages arrive written and waiting. Nothing reaches an athlete unapproved.

1Before

What the morning usually costs

  • Wearable data in one app, check-ins in another, the training plan in a spreadsheet
  • The athletes you look at are the ones who mentioned something yesterday
  • Overreaching gets caught when someone complains, not when the trend starts
  • Cross-referencing a 40-athlete roster by hand is possible, so it does not happen
2Setup

What the first fortnight involves

  • Import the roster from a CSV — one upload, not forty forms
  • Athletes connect what they already own; nobody buys a device
  • Your paces, zones and thresholds go in, so prescriptions come out in your language
  • Pick a briefing time and who on staff receives it
3Steady state

What a normal Tuesday looks like

  • A briefing is waiting, naming the handful of athletes worth your attention and why
  • Where a session should change, the change is already drafted against the real steps
  • You approve, edit or reject — and rejecting teaches it what you actually believe
  • Anything you want to ask the roster, you ask in plain language, including from Slack
